Terms and Conditions
General
All vehicles are hired according to the standard rental agreement terms and conditions.
Our rates include unlimited km, VAT, full Third Party Insurance and 85% comprehensive insurance, airport transfer.
Drivers/ Renters must be in possession of a valid unendorsed drivers license. Valid driver’s licenses are: An international drivers license, A European Community drivers license, any national drivers license in English. National drivers license in any other language than English must be accompanied by an officially certified translation in English.
The minimum age is 25 years, maximum age 70 years.
Daily rates are calculated on a 24 hour basis from pick-up to drop-off.
The vehicles are handed over fully tanked and must be filled up with return of the vehicle.
Extensions of the rental period must be arranged with us not later than 48 hours prior to the original agreed date of termination.
Benguela Car Hire reserves the right to charge a cleaning fee at termination of the rental
Cross - Border Travel
No cars may be taken across the Namibian borders without prior approval by Benguela Car Hire.
4x4 vehicles are allowed to Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mozambique and RSA. Double the excess rate applies to vehicles going into Zambia, Malawi, and Mozambique.
Insurance
The vehicle carries comprehensive insurance. However, in the event of an insurance claim arising, the renter will be held liable for an excess amount, payable in advance, as security to the lessor.
The excess must be deposited in the form of a credit card voucher. The excess amount can be reduced against payment of an extra daily fee.
Insurances and waivers exclude the loss or damage to tyres, glass (windscreen, lamps, windows), sandblasts and loss of personal property.
In case of a traffic accident the liability of the driver/renter is limited to the excess amount unless one of the following factors applies:
- No adhering to traffic regulations
- Unauthorized driver driving the vehicle
- The accident or loss was not reported to the police and Benguela Car Hire
- Driving under the influence of alcohol or any illegal substance
- Negligence
- Driving on roads not officially listed
Payment
25% non-refundable deposit due on confirmation.
Full payment is required on delivery/collection of the vehicle. We honor MASTER & VISA CARD.
Cancellation
14 – 8 days before arrival date: 50% of the total rental amount will be charged.
7 days and less: 100% of the total rental amount will be charged.
Accident
In case of an accident, where the renter is liable, the renter will be liable for tow-in costs and related costs of the vehicle and the recovery of the vehicle.
In case of an accident outside Namibia, the renter is responsible for the transport back to the borders of Namibia.
Benguela Car Hire does not accept any responsibility for any injuries, death or personal damage and/or loss.
